The Importance of Low Cost Energy Storage for Domestic Households

  • Required for wind and solar, the current lowest cost energy sources
  • Improved electricity reliability and stability
  • Necessary for low cost renewable energy systems
  • Hydrogen as a battery, possesses deep capacity at low cost
  • Allows a phase-shift between generation and consumption of energy

THE BENEFITS OF HYDROGEN

  • Highest gravimetric energy density among liquid fuels, 141 MJ/kg

  • Fast and convenient refueling

  • When used in fuel cells returns the water

  • Energy streams from liquefaction provide significant heating and cooling capabilities

  • Pure oxygen stream available

BENEFITS OF A H2 DOMESTIC FUTURE

  • Each domestic residence becomes a singular production and storage site for cryogenic hydrogen. With our INTEGRATED DSM approach, each household becomes part of a network where behind the meter access of the modules allows for real-time rampable storage for wind and solar generators. This allows for variable “ARTIFICIAL” demand for the grid operators to control.
  • Each domestic residence becomes the refuelling infrastructure for hydrogen vehicles. With onsite production of hydrogen, the service station model of hydrogen wholesaling, transportation, excise, retailing and GST costs are eliminated from the cost of the hydrogen production
  • Access to household utilities such as electricity and water reduces the costs for the installation of the NETAS ALTILIUMTM units comparatively to industrial scale plants

  • The modules make use of low temperature heat streams that industrial scale hydrogen production plants cannot make use of. Significantly improving not only the efficiency but the running costs of the NETAS ALTILIUMTM units as a result

NETAS ALTILIUMTM HYDROGEN MODULES

  • Hydrogen liquefaction & storage plant

  • 567kWh of chemical-energy storage (Module)
  • Each unit generates 14.7 kg of hydrogen per week or 60L petrol equivalent (can be scaled-up)

  • Boil-off gas management

  • Vehicle-storage interface

  • High systems efficiency > 90% w/ waste heat utilization

  • 1.8m L x 2m H x 0.6m W

THE KEY FEATURES OF OUR NETAS ALTILIUMTM  MODULES

  • Network regulators have control of domestic hydrogen units. which means the electric grid goes from being a demand driven supply responding network (DDSR) to a demand responding supply driven (DRSD) network

  • The NETAS ALTILIUMTM modules use the homeowners potable water supply to generate Hydrogen via electrolysis whereby any and all thermal heat streams are sunk into its own HWS, providing hot water for households at high thermodynamic efficiency

  • The NETAS ALTILIUMTM  modules with their systematic alliance with other forms of renewable energy generation, increase efficiency directly and indirectly of their operation. At scale, they allow for greater use of higher efficiency combined cycled gas turbines, nuclear power and other forms of baseload generation

  • NETAS ALTILIUMTM modules are designed to CAPTURE that energy for household use, creating higher efficiency as a result of the waste heat monetization

NETAS ALTILIUM™ hydrogen storage units
hydrogen vehicle features zero carbon emissions

HYDROGEN VEHICLE FEATURES

  • ZERO CO2 emissions

  • FCEV, H2ICE vehicles and the NETAS ALTILIUMTM (refueling infrastructure) are supplied simultaneously solving the ‘chicken or egg’ conundrum as to which comes first

  • Electronic communications between vehicle and NETAS ALTILIUMTM modules monitors B.O.G. and refueling automatically, freeing storage capacity in the NETAS ALTILIUMTM modules
  • Hydrogen vehicles have the ability to supply households with electricity, curtailing diurnal generation peaks during the peak periods when the owners’ of the NETAS ALTILIUMTM/FCEV packages are home
